Most testosterone prescriptions today are written by primary care physicians, not specialists — but until now, there's been no dedicated clinical guidance for GPs on managing testosterone deficiency (TD).
We're pleased to share that an international expert panel, convened under The Androgen Society, has published "Managing Testosterone Deficiency in Primary Care: An International Expert Consensus" in The Aging Male (Vol. 29, Issue 1) — unanimous, ten-point guidance covering diagnosis, treatment, monitoring, and when to refer.
Among the findings: large randomized trial data, including TRAVERSE, show testosterone therapy is not associated with increased cardiovascular or prostate cancer risk — two concerns that have long shaped (and often limited) how TD is treated.
